Timmins Gold Corp. (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Darcy Krohman, P.Geo., CA as a Director and its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Krohman was a Senior Securities and Mining Analyst with the British Columbia Securities Commission from 1999 to 2006. Mr. Krohman was a mining and securities analyst with C.M. Oliver and Company Limited from 1996 to 1998.
Darcy brings a broad range of experience and skill to Timmins Gold. He is a Professional Geologist and Chartered Accountant who has held various senior positions within the mining and mineral exploration sector since 1981. During the last 11 years Darcy has been employed as a securities and mining analyst within the Corporate Finance divisions of the British Columbia Securities Commission and C.M. Oliver & Company Limited -- Capital Markets (now Canaccord Capital). During this time Darcy provided corporate finance and related services including expert advice on due diligence, valuations, fairness opinions, mergers and acquisitions, industry and company research, foreign and domestic public accounting and auditing topics, and interpretation of and compliance with, securities legislation. He has also completed the Canadian Securities Course.
Darcy has evaluated numerous mining and mineral exploration companies and projects throughout the world and has conducted site investigations in North, South and Central America, Europe, Asia, Australia and the South Pacific.
Darcy has been a member of the PDAC-CICA subcommittee advising the International Accounting Standards Board on harmonized accounting standards for the extractive industries, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) National Instrument 43-101 (Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects) Committee and the Vancouver Mining Analyst Group.
Darcy has also joined Silvermex Resources Ltd. in the same capacity and will be devoting approximately 50% of his time to each company. The board of directors of Timmins Gold would like to thank outgoing CFO Mark Aplas for his services to Timmins Gold over the past year.
